Step Up to Star Quality! Participating licensed child care facilities can earn quality ratings of Two, Three, Four, and Five Stars. As programs complete the requirements for higher ratings, they will receive Quality Step System certificates and can use their new star ratings in advertising and marketing. Facilities serving families eligible for child care subsidies, that earn higher ratings, can receive quality bonuses from the Mississippi Office for Children and Youth, which administers the Mississippi Child Care Assistance Program. Participating child care facilities will make improvements in these areas:
Facilities will be subject to scheduled monitoring visits and to evaluations by standardized early childhood program evaluation methods.
